A GATHERING PLACE
Wolf Point has always been a gathering place for people and goods moving through our city. In the early part of the 19th century, river settlers established Chicago’s first tavern, hotel, and drug store here.
At the confluence of the Chicago River’s three branches, Wolf Point has been an important part of this city since the beginning.
Wolf Point has always been a gathering place for people and goods moving through our city. In the early part of the 19th century, river settlers established Chicago’s first tavern, hotel, and drug store here.
As our city grew, so did Wolf Point’s importance. In 1917, the city adopted the Municipal Device — an official symbol of the three branches of the River coming together at Wolf Point. This Y-shaped symbol is found throughout the city on bridges, buildings, and infrastructure.
Today, Wolf Point is surrounded by both high rises
and history. At the crossroads of the three branches
of the Chicago River and three incredible downtown neighborhoods, Wolf Point East will continue the
legacy of this unique place for years to come.
